HR Section is broadly responsible for framing and executing policies to ensure that the Institute's needs of human resource are fully and timely met and that the personnel recruited are so well oriented and trained as to deal with the assigned work efficiently.

HR (Faculty) - looks after the recruitment & establishment matters of Faculty members. Joint Registrar (HR) heads the HR Section. Sr. Assistant Registrar, Section Officer, Executive Assistants and Junior Assistants looks after the faculty matters under the supervision of the Joint Registrar.

    In general, the HR Section is responsible for the following activities:

  • Notifying advertisements
  • Organising faculty interviews starting from forwarding applications to the HoDs for scrutiny, sending call letters to the shortlisted candidates, set up of online interview with the candidates & Expert Committee and issue of offer letters to the selected candidates.
  • First Point of contact for new joining faculty and assist the new employees in all possible ways in their initial settlements.
  • Getting ID card issued.
  • Getting official email account opened
  • Providing office space to new faculty
  • Introducing new faculty member to IITH fraternity through announcement & introducing new faculty to all administrative heads.
  • Issuing joining Orders
  • Maintaining Service Books of each faculty
  • Medical books issue & updating the dependent record.
  • Fixation of Pay & Allowances
  • Joining time, Joining time pay, Relocation (Faculty) related matters
  • Probation clearance and confirmation of Services
  • Processing Block grant/CPDA requests
  • Issuance of Address proof certificate
  • Issuance of No Objection Certificates related to various matters (to obtain Passport/Visa; to apply for outside jobs; to pursue higher studies etc.)
  • Matters related to lien and deputation
  • Leave matters
  • Processing of LTC requests/claims
  • Maintaining and updating Service records
  • Annual increments
  • Obtaining Annual Immovable Property Returns
  • Giving replies to RTI/Ministry/Parliamentary queries
  • Matters related to Placements, Movements and Promotions
  • Maintaining database for NIRF & other ranking framework.
  • Any other works assigned by the Director from time to time
