IIT Hyderabad congratulates Mr Sunny Ladkat, PhD scholar in Development Studies, Department of Liberal Arts, working under the supervision of Dr Gaurav Dhamija, for receiving the Best Paper Award at the 3rd Doctoral Colloquium organised by the Madras Institute of Development Studies (MIDS), Chennai, held from 6th to 8th October 2025.
The award was presented by M Suresh Babu, Director, MIDS, Chennai.
The paper titled “A Lopsided Bargain: Women’s Employment and the Persistent Gender Gap in Unpaid Work in India” examines how women’s increasing participation in paid work interacts with persistent spousal inequalities in unpaid household and care work in India.
